FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Red Rocks Community College to Produce Sarah Ruhl’s Eurydice

LAKEWOOD, CO - The Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) Theatre Arts and Dance Department will present Sarah Ruhl’s Eurydice, on December 7, 8, and 9 at 7 pm at the RRCC Theater. The show, directed by Stephanie Murry, is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com.

“Sarah Ruhl's adaptation of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice stays (mostly) true to the original story, while updating the language beautifully for modern audiences,” says director Stephanie Murry. “As the title suggests, this version predominantly focuses on Eurydice's side of the story, telling it from the female perspective. With a chorus of punk rock Stones to offer some comic relief, the script walks the line between love and loss, joy, and sorrow. If you are thinking of old-fashioned Greek theatre, think again! With a stellar cast and crew of both RRCC students and community members, I think audiences will be pleasantly surprised at how accessible this version of Eurydice truly is!”

Tickets for all RRCC Theatre Department productions may be purchased via this website: https://redrocks.cc/tickets . RRCC Students may receive a free ticket with their student I.D. by emailing Kelly.Eldredge@rrcc.edu.
